Construction Course
Have you been considering a hempcrete project?
HempCentral has partnered with the Australian Hemp Masonry Company to offer two part hemp construction courses. HempCentral hosts part 2 - a practical workshop at our Queensberry location in Wanaka, taking place over October 2025.

This is the practical component of the Hemp Construction Course. With the 2 x 3 hr zoom sessions covering the theory component, this hands-on workshop will complete your AHMC/HempCentral Limited training, giving you experience in mixing and installing hempcrete.
This is the only workshop of its type in New Zealand. We hosted our first course in October 2024 and we’re thrilled to welcome back Ben Convery from the Australian Hemp Masonry Company to deliver this year’s course.
Ben, a qualified Workplace Trainer and Assessor, brings a wealth of experience, having led numerous Hemp Building Practical Workshops in Australia.
We use locally produced hemp hurd, and Geobind, the first 100% New Zealand made binder for hempcrete walling.
The workshop includes hands-on experience, both learning to mix the hurd and binder well and learning the techniques for using hempcrete, to ensure that the end result both looks good and provides optimal thermal and acoustic performance.
Due to last year’s course popularity, we’re offering two dates for our 2025 practical course. Please choose one date which suits you.

Please note, morning and afternoon tea/coffee and lunch are included as part of the course. Please let us know about any specific dietary or other health related needs.
